Eric and Fiona Greenslade extend a warm welcome to their home, where they offer comfortable and relaxing hospitality. We are in the hamlet of Stoke on the road to Hartland Quay, which is one mile away and two miles beyond Hartland village. Our local area is designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
Stoke is home to St Nectan’s church, once known as the ‘Cathedral of North Devon’ as the tower is approx 128ft high and is seen from miles around. We are lucky to have a mixture of woodland, farmland and the coast all within a short walk of our front door. If you are ones that enjoy walking there are many pathways to explore.
As Hartland Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and this area is known for minimal light or sound pollution, on a cloud free night the constellations of the stars can be clearly seen. Also in the evening after a fine day, people gather at Hartland Quay to look out over the Atlantic, to watch the magical sunsets which make the cliffs glow, while the sun slowly sinks into the sea.
We are ideally situated for you to explore North Devon, places such as Clovelly, the Atlantic Village, Bideford , Barnstaple and Torrington, home to RHS Rosemoor. Also being within a few miles of the North Cornwall border with the seaside town of Bude, you will never be short of places to visit.
Whether your interests are walking (the South West Coast Path is just a short walk away), cycling, rock climbing, surfing, bird watching or just relaxing, you cannot, but be impressed by the most spectacular rugged and breathtaking coastline in the South West of England.
We have ample off road parking, which enables our guests to forget about their cars and just venture out to explore the many pathways around.
Please note we are open all year round
